Noise Buds N1 Pro: Affordable Wireless Earbuds Deliver Punchy Bass and Impressive Battery Life, But Fall Short on Connectivity

Noise stands out as one of the brands that has been significantly engaged in the budget TWS market. The brand has rolled out a series of audio products in this range, with the latest being the Noise Buds N1 Pro. This new TWS from the company is packed with intriguing features yet maintains a wallet-friendly price of Rs 1,799. The TWS device comes equipped with 11mm drivers, Noise’s Instacharge technology, quad-mic support, extended battery life, and additional perks. But does it make a lasting impact? Let’s explore this in-depth review.

Noise Buds N1 Pro Design and Features: Sleek and Lightweight

  • Dimensions — 43 x 56 x 28mm (Case)
  • Weight — 39g (Including Case)
  • Water and dust resistance — IPX5 (For Buds only)
  • Color Options — Chrome Green, Chrome Purple, Chrome Beige, and Chrome Black

It can be said with confidence that Noise is among the few brands in this category that aims to provide distinctive color choices and designs for its TWS products. This assertion holds true for the Noise Buds N1 Pro as well. The device is offered in various Chrome shades, including Green, Purple, Beige, and Black. Personally, I prefer the Green and Purple, which give a premium appearance.

The Noise Buds N1 Pro is available in Green, Beige, Purple, and Black hues.

The charging case is designed to be compact and has a metallic sheen that certainly enhances its aesthetic appeal. While constructed from plastic, the build quality appears satisfactory considering the price. Its compact shape and rounded edges allow for easy storage in pockets. There’s a small LED indicator that displays the charging status of the TWS. Though the design seems smaller compared to the Redmi Buds 5C, the TWS from Noise presents itself as somewhat unremarkable.

The earbuds feature a wedge-shaped stem with indicator lights at the top. The stem has both glossy and matte finishes, which look appealing. Additionally, they are light and compact, making them comfortable enough for prolonged use. The silicone tips provide a fair level of passive noise cancellation. Interestingly, the earbuds boast an IPX5 rating, rendering them resistant to sweat and dust, which is a notable aspect for this price range.

Noise Buds N1 Pro Specifications: Quite Conventional

  • Driver Size — 11mm
  • Companion App — Not Available
  • Gesture Controls — Yes (Tap and Swipe)

Unfortunately, the absence of companion app support with the Noise Buds N1 Pro is quite disappointing. This restriction lessens the overall experience as users cannot customize sound profiles, touch controls, and other features typically provided via an app. In this context, the Xiaomi Buds 5C poses as a superior option due to its companion app that offers extensive customization possibilities.

The Noise Buds N1 Pro includes ANC capabilities of up to 32dB.

Regarding specifications, the Noise Buds N1 Pro showcases some appealing features. The earbuds are equipped with an 11mm driver along with active noise cancellation of up to 32 dB. Additionally, they support Bluetooth 5.3 and incorporate quad microphones with Environmental Noise Cancellation (ENC).

Noise Buds N1 Pro Performance, Battery Life: Strong Bass, Satisfactory Battery Life

  • ANC Rating — 32dB
  • Charging Method — Wired (USB Type-C)
  • Bluetooth Version — 5.3

The Noise Buds N1 Pro delivers reasonable performance for its price. The earbuds feature Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) up to 32 dB, which works reasonably well in quiet settings, effectively reducing background noise from fans, air conditioners, or conversations. However, it struggles in noisy environments, prompting the need to lower the volume to mitigate surrounding sounds.

The earbuds produce a sound profile that emphasizes bass.

You can toggle the ANC feature on or off with a simple tap and hold on the right earbud. Other touch controls are straightforward as well – swiping up or down on the right earbud adjusts the volume, while the same swipes on the left earbud do the opposite. Double-tapping either earbud will play or pause music, and a long press on the left earbud activates low-latency mode.

Speaking of low-latency mode, the earbuds demonstrate commendable performance with a 40ms response time. This allows for seamless media viewing or gaming without significant audio delay.

The performance of the Noise Buds N1 Pro leans heavily towards a bass-centric sound signature. Thus, if you are a bass enthusiast, these earbuds may appeal to you. Listening to songs like Bass Rani by Nucelya reveals punchy bass, although vocal separation is adequate. Nonetheless, the bass tends to overshadow the highs and mids, which is particularly noticeable when playing Hotel California, where the bass overwhelms the vocals and mids. Additionally, there are noticeable instances of sound bleed and distortion at maximum volume, so it’s advisable to keep the volume around 60 to 70 percent for optimal sound quality.

Battery performance is also commendable. The manufacturer claims that the case provides up to 60 hours of use. During testing, I achieved approximately 40 hours of playback with the case, while the earbuds lasted around 5 to 6 hours on average. The earbuds charge from 0 to 100 percent in just under two hours.

The Noise Buds N1 Pro offers an impressive battery along with fast charging features.

However, I had some frustrations with the earbuds’ connectivity. Pairing them with a smartphone or laptop can be quite challenging. You must press and hold the right earbud to initiate pairing. Unfortunately, the entire process can be inconsistent, and there were occasions when the earbuds failed to connect.

Regarding call quality, the Noise Buds N1 Pro provides an adequate experience. The quad-mic ENC performs reasonably well in quieter settings, allowing the other party to hear your voice clearly. However, in noisier environments, the microphone’s noise-cancellation abilities are merely average.

Noise Buds N1 Pro Conclusion

In summary, the Noise Buds N1 Pro offers a reasonable combination of performance and aesthetics. The TWS features a metallic finish that helps it stand out. Its bass-heavy performance is likely to entice bass lovers, and battery life is decent too. However, there are notable areas of concern such as overpowering bass, connectivity challenges, and lack of a companion app that detract from the overall experience. Moreover, competition in this price range is quite stiff, including the Redmi Buds 5C (Review), Honor Choice Earbuds X5 (Review), among others.
