Nintendo Plans to Boost Switch 2 Production to Achieve Record Sales in Its First Year

In just four days, sales of the Switch 2 have soared past 3.5 million units, making it the fastest-selling console from **Nintendo**. It seems the company has no intention of stopping at this record, as a recent report from Bloomberg indicates that they are planning to produce 25 million units by the end of 2026.

According to sources, **Nintendo** aims to release these 25 million Switch 2 consoles by the close of the 2026 fiscal year, having informed their manufacturing partners of this goal. If they succeed, the company could achieve record-breaking sales for the console’s inaugural year. **Nintendo** is primarily focusing on the winter holiday season, a time when people indulge in buying gifts for themselves and their loved ones for the New Year and Christmas.

Analysts predict that sales of the Switch 2 for the fiscal year ending in March 2026 may reach 17.6 million units. However, **Nintendo’s** own expectations are more modest, targeting 15 million units. Bloomberg notes that there is a strong possibility for **Nintendo** to sell approximately 20 million Switch 2 consoles by the end of the financial year, based on shipment estimates from their manufacturing partners.

For comparison, in its first year, 14.87 million Switch consoles were sold (with 17.79 million sold in the first 13 months), while the PlayStation 5 achieved sales of 17.3 million units during the same period.
