New Vivo X Fold 5 Set to Make Indian Debut: Premium Features and Flipkart Availability Announced!

The Vivo X Fold 5 was recently revealed in China, and the company is now hinting at an imminent launch in India. An official announcement regarding the specific date is expected shortly. The Indian model is anticipated to resemble its Chinese version closely. The device boasts an 8.03-inch flexible inner display and a 6.53-inch external screen, both utilizing 8T LTPO technology. When folded, the Vivo X Fold 5 is approximately 9.2mm thick and measures 4.3mm when opened. Additionally, Vivo has teased the upcoming launch of the X200 FE model in India as well.

Vivo X Fold 5 Launch in India

Vivo has teased the forthcoming launch of the X Fold 5 foldable smartphone in an X post. The precise launch date is anticipated to be revealed soon. A banner on Flipkart has confirmed that the foldable device will be available in India through the e-commerce platform.

An official page for the Vivo X Fold 5 has disclosed that the smartphone will be powered by a 6,000mAh battery, supporting 80W wired and 40W wireless fast charging, just like the version released in China. It is also expected to achieve IP5X dust resistance and IPX8+IPX9 ratings for water protection.

The Vivo X Fold 5 is reported to withstand freezing temperatures down to –20°C. It features a Carbon Fibre Support Hinge, which has been tested for durability up to 600,000 folds. The device will be 9.2mm thick when folded and 4.3mm when opened, with the Indian model expected to weigh 217g.

In terms of photography, the Vivo X Fold 5 will come with a Zeiss-supported triple rear camera system that includes a 50-megapixel telephoto lens, mirroring the specifications of the existing Chinese variant. The smartphone will also offer AI Image Studio functionalities. Additionally, it is expected to have a Shortcut Button for easy access to features like sound modes, flashlight, camera, notes, recording, and more.

The camera system of the Vivo X Fold 5 consists of a 50-megapixel primary camera along with a 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens, in addition to the telephoto sensor. The smartphone is equipped with 20-megapixel front cameras on both inner and outer displays. It features an 8.03-inch inner screen and a 6.53-inch cover display and is powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM.
