New Job Listing at CDPR Hints at Multiplayer Feature in Cyberpunk 2

CD Projekt RED seems to be ready to fulfill the long-standing wish of fans by introducing a multiplayer mode in the upcoming Cyberpunk 2. This is suggested by a recent job opening posted by the studio.

Players have been eagerly anticipating multiplayer features in the Cyberpunk universe. Initially, the developers intended to include it in the first installment, but ultimately scrapped the idea. Now, according to the latest information, online functionalities are set to be a significant aspect of the sequel.

On social media platform X, the company posted a new list of job vacancies. CD Projekt RED is in search of a Lead Network Engineer for Cyberpunk 2. This role will involve designing and optimizing network architecture, ensuring stable and fast connectivity, as well as handling matchmaking operations. The job description explicitly mentions developing and enhancing systems for online gameplay, which indirectly supports the notion of multiplayer being on the way—now it’s just a matter of waiting for the official announcement.

While the studios at CD Projekt RED are hard at work on the sequel, Cyberpunk 2077 continues to receive updates. Recently, the game was enhanced with patch 2.31, which improved the autopilot feature, photo mode, and fixed various bugs.
