New iOS 26 Beta 2 Unveils Enhanced Control Centre Blur and Bug Fixes for iPhone Users

Apple has introduced iOS 26 Beta 2 for the iPhone. This update includes various enhancements compared to the Beta 1 release that came out shortly after WWDC 2025. One of the notable features is a new toggle that intensifies the blur effect in the Control Centre, making it easier to read. Additionally, the iOS 26 Beta 2 update addresses multiple issues, including a problem that prevented iPhone 16 models from starting up after the initial beta installation.

New Features and Changes in iOS 26 Beta 2 Update

The iOS 26 Beta 2 update introduces a greater blur effect behind the Control Centre. Users had widely reported that the new Liquid Glass interface made the panel less legible. In some cases, it became completely unreadable, particularly with lighter wallpaper backgrounds. This update aims to resolve that issue.

Moreover, iPhone users now have the ability to adjust the blur level displayed. A new Reduce Transparency setting has been reportedly included under Accessibility, allowing users to reduce it for a potentially clearer reading experience.

Two new widgets have been added for Apple Music: one for Live Radio and another for conducting song searches directly from the iPhone’s lock screen. The Transcribe Calls feature has been rebranded as Save Call Transcripts. Moreover, the Wallet app will now provide full support for tracking orders, with a fresh feature enabling Siri to scan through the Mail app to locate and retrieve order-related emails from merchants.

Additional minor updates include a modified description for Low Power Mode, the introduction of a new “Alt 1” ringtone, an updated Accessibility section in the App Store, and a repositioned “+” tab in the Safari tab management view.

In addition to these features, Apple also implemented various bug fixes, notably addressing an issue that prevented iPhone 15 and 16 devices from booting up after updating to iOS 26 Beta 1, which displayed a low battery icon.

According to Apple, users can resolve this by either restoring their iPhone to the updated iOS 26 Beta 1 or reverting to the publicly accessible iOS 18 version. The restoration process is as follows:

  1. Connect a USB Type-C cable to your computer.
  2. Open Finder on Mac or the Apple Devices app on Windows.
  3. When the iPhone’s screen goes black, connect it to the computer while simultaneously pressing and holding the power and volume down buttons.
  4. After three seconds, release the power button while continuing to hold the volume button until your iPhone shows up in the Finder or Apple Devices app. This may take around 15 seconds.
  5. Now, you can opt to restore your iPhone to the updated iOS 26 Beta 1 or the latest iOS 18 version.
  6. Finally, restore your iPhone from the backup (if available) to recover all your data.
