Netflix Acquires Warner Bros. Alongside Its Gaming Division

Last month, the media reported that the leadership of **Netflix** was interested in acquiring **Warner Bros. Discovery**. After a few weeks of negotiations, the companies reached an agreement, finalizing a deal whereby **Warner Bros.** will become part of **Netflix** for $82.7 billion.

The transaction is set to be completed in the third quarter of 2026. This agreement not only brings under **Netflix’s** control numerous blockbuster film franchises, but also the gaming division of **Warner Bros.**, encompassing all its studios, including **Avalanche Software**, **NetherRealm**, **Rocksteady**, and **Traveller’s Tales**.

Representatives from **Netflix** have stated that this deal «merges two innovative entertainment enterprises, combining **Netflix’s** creativity, global reach, and top-tier streaming service with **Warner Bros.’** longstanding legacy in world-class storytelling.» According to **Bloomberg**, the U.S. antitrust commission is likely to intervene in this process, and should that occur, **Netflix** is prepared to offer a $5 billion payout should regulators not approve the deal.
