Naomi Osaka Reflects on the Impact of the Williams Sisters: They Are Queens

Four-time Grand Slam champion, Japanese tennis player **Naomi Osaka** shared the impact that multiple Grand Slam champions **Venus** and **Serena Williams** have had on her, mentioning that she still feels excited whenever she encounters them at tournaments.

“Every time I see Venus or Serena, I feel like that same child who once admired them, as they were my favorite players to watch. It’s wonderful that Venus has made a comeback, and it’s great for the fans as well. I am grateful that they have played for so long and continue to inspire so many… Maybe Serena will return, who knows? I’m keeping my fingers crossed.

I think it’s just amazing for tennis. I grew up watching them and then had the chance to play against them. Now, as a player myself, I realize how challenging it is to stay at the top for so long. It’s truly incredible. I believe people should appreciate them even more. To me, they are like my mentors. They are queens,” Osaka said during a press conference at the tournament in Washington.
