Nacon Secures WRC Rally Simulator Rights for Upcoming Seasons

Less than a month has passed since the end of the licensing agreement with **Codemasters** and **Electronic Arts**, but the International Automobile Federation (FIA) has already chosen a new partner for producing **WRC** racing games. Starting in 2027, the French publisher **Nacon** will take over this responsibility.

According to the FIA, **Nacon** will hold the exclusive rights to create games based on the license for PC and consoles for six upcoming seasons, extending until 2032. The previously owned studio **Kylotonn** had been working on WRC-licensed titles from 2015 to 2022.

In a press release, it was announced that **Nacon** will develop a new series of WRC racing games intended to «accurately convey the reality of the World Rally Championship.» The partners have promised that the racing title will meet the expectations of both dedicated rally fans and newcomers. The game will feature official races, vehicles, teams, drivers, sponsors, and additional content. A «complete reboot» of the franchise is planned, based on a fresh vision.

**Alain Falc**, the CEO of **Nacon**, explained that the acquired license would allow them to provide rally enthusiasts with «unforgettable driving experiences.» Having closely collaborated with WRC teams and drivers from 2015 to 2022, **Nacon** has developed a «cohesive and unique experience in translating rally into a gaming format.» The FIA recognized not only **Nacon**’s expertise but also its outstanding vision.

It’s worth noting that the latest WRC-licensed game currently available is the **EA Sports WRC** from **Codemasters**, released in November 2023. This racing simulator has received mixed reviews, holding only a 62% positive rating on **Steam**. Previously, **Codemasters** confirmed its cessation of collaboration with the World Rally Championship and announced that it had **paused all plans** for future rally game development.
