Miyazaki: Bloodborne Reflects My Game Development Philosophy Like No Other

Over a decade has passed since the release of Bloodborne, yet fans are still waiting for a PC port or even a performance patch for PlayStation 5. This has led to a misconception among players that FromSoftware is uninterested in the game. However, this claim was recently addressed by Hidetaka Miyazaki in an interview with Game Informer, where he emphasized his personal connection to the title.

Miyazaki described Bloodborne as «a very personal game that means a lot to me,» reflecting on what he called «probably the most challenging development cycle for the studio.»

It’s worth noting that just a year and a half ago, Miyazaki expressed his openness to seeing Bloodborne on PC. However, it’s important to recognize that his opinion alone is not sufficient, as the rights to the title lie with Sony. Many speculate that Bloodborne may share a fate similar to that of Demon’s Souls and receive a full remake timed with the launch of PlayStation 6, though there have been no official announcements regarding this.

As for FromSoftware at present, the studio is occupied with developing The Duskbloods, another exclusive title, this time for the Nintendo Switch 2. The game is set to be released later this year.
