Michkov Narrows Gap Behind Celebriani and Hudson in NHL Rookie Scoring Race

Russian forward Matvei Michkov of the Philadelphia Flyers recorded an assist in a home game during the NHL regular season against the New York Islanders, which ended with a score of 4-3 in a shootout. This achievement has brought Matvei closer to Canadian forward Macklin Celebrini of the San Jose Sharks and American defenseman Lane Hutson of the Montreal Canadiens in the NHL rookie race.

Currently, Michkov has accumulated 60 points (24 goals and 36 assists), just two points behind Celebrini, who has a total of 62 points. The 18-year-old Canadian has netted 24 goals and provided 38 assists.

Leading all rookies in this NHL season is Hutson from Montreal, who has an impressive 64 points (6 goals and 58 assists).
