MegaETH Rolls Out Public Testnet with Promising 20,000 TPS Capacity

The Ethereum-based L2 project, MegaETH, has launched a public testnet boasting a claimed throughput of 20,000 transactions per second (TPS).

As of this writing, approximately 30 applications are operational in the testnet, including those from the trading platform GTE and the prediction market Guess.Best.

According to the MegaETH team, the network has successfully achieved a block processing time of 10 milliseconds—25 times faster than the 250 milliseconds of the fastest rollup, Arbitrum.

With the implementation of their proprietary parallelization mechanism, the developers aim to reach a throughput of 100,000 TPS, a target initially proposed by Vitalik Buterin for L1 Ethereum back in 2021.

It’s worth noting that in March, experts from Santiment reported a decline in optimism regarding Ethereum.
