Medvedev Comments on Djokovics Departure from PTPA: A Setback for the Association

The 2021 US Open champion and the 13th-ranked player in the world, Russian tennis player **[Daniil Medvedev](https://www.example.com/tags/24814-daniil-medvedev/)**, shared his thoughts on Serbian player **Novak Djokovic’s** decision to leave the Association of Tennis Professionals (PTPA).

«Honestly, this doesn’t reflect well on the PTPA, considering he was a co-founder. I’m not exactly sure what factors influenced his choice.

I have always supported the PTPA because I believe the ATP could improve certain aspects, as they are monopolistic in the sport. Personally, I have never been in a position to make decisions, but I have always thought it’s beneficial for various parties to explore tennis and identify potential improvements. So, I don’t have a strong opinion either way about his decision. The key thing is that people continue to do their jobs as effectively as possible,” Medvedev stated during a press conference following his first-round match at the tournament in Brisbane.
