Max Verstappen Shares His Thrilling Journey from 19th to Podium at the Brazilian GP

The 28-year-old Dutch driver and four-time Formula 1 champion, **[Max Verstappen](https://www.example.com)** of Red Bull, shared his feelings about his incredible leap from 19th to 3rd place at the Brazilian Grand Prix.

«When I got into the car, I simply hoped that it would be more competitive. I would say that even on the way to the grid, the car felt better than it had all weekend. After the start, when I got that puncture and found myself at the back again, I thought, ‘Oh my God, this weekend is clearly not going my way.’ But you just adapt. You try to do everything possible: overtake the cars in front and stick to the optimal strategy. And it all worked out.

All our decisions as a team turned out to be correct. At some point, you start fighting for a podium – you realize this about 10-12 laps before the end. It’s a great feeling. However, during the race, I don’t make any predictions. I stay focused on the moment and try to navigate each lap as steadily as possible. So, apart from that, the key takeaway is that we managed to regain a much better feel for the car by changing a few details. At the same time, it was noticeably cooler on the track, and that could have influenced things as well,» Verstappen told Racingnews365.
