Letter from Soviet Football Legend Eduard Striletsov Offered for Sale at 2 Million Rubles

A letter from the imprisoned Soviet national football team player and legend of Moscow’s Torpedo, **Eduard Streltsov**, has been put up for sale at a price of 2 million rubles. This information was reported by the Telegram channel Mash na sporte.

Eduard Streltsov was arrested in 1958 on charges of rape and subsequently found guilty of the crime. The court sentenced the Torpedo forward to 12 years in prison. During his incarceration, the athlete worked in logging and mining, and he also participated in football tournaments for inmates. In February 1963, he was released on parole.

As a member of Torpedo, Streltsov became the champion of the USSR in 1965 and also won the USSR Cup. Additionally, he was a gold medalist at the 1956 Summer Olympics as part of the Soviet national team.
