Kremlin Praises U.S. Foreign Policy Shift as Harmonious with Its Own Agenda

The Kremlin stated in comments broadcasted on Sunday that the recent shift in U.S. foreign policy «largely coincides» with its own stance.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told a state television reporter, «The new administration is quickly altering all foreign policy frameworks, and this largely corresponds with our perspective.»

He continued, “There is a significant journey ahead as substantial harm has been inflicted on the entire spectrum of bilateral relations. However, if Presidents Putin and Trump maintain their political will, this journey could proceed swiftly and successfully.»

Since assuming office in January, U.S. President Donald Trump has aimed to mend relations with Russia, engaging directly with President Vladimir Putin and aligning with Moscow at the United Nations during a vote marking the third anniversary of the large-scale invasion of Ukraine.

At the same time, the relationship between the U.S. and Ukraine has become increasingly tense, highlighted by a surprising televised confrontation last week involving Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, Trump, and U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance in the Oval Office.
