KHL Match Sees SKA Win Over Torpedo as Forward Kuznetsov Misses Overtime Due to Injury

SKA triumphed over Torpedo in a KHL regular season match, winning 3-2 after a shootout. The captain of the Petersburg team, Evgeny Kuznetsov, did not participate in the overtime and skipped the post-game handshake with the opposing players.

Reports indicate that towards the end of the third period, the forward exited the rink accompanied by a SKA physician and did not return to the ice.

Additionally, during the early moments of the third twenty-minute segment, the referee awarded a penalty shot against Torpedo. However, Kuznetsov’s attempt was thwarted by goaltender Ivan Kulbakov.

It’s worth noting that the forward has only played 39 games this season, in which he accumulated 37 points (12 goals and 25 assists). On February 28, 2025, he was once again placed on the injured list by the army club.
