Kanchelskis: Wendel Would Be an Asset for Spartak

Former Manchester United midfielder Andrey Kanchelskis expressed his belief that Brazilian midfielder Wendel from Zenit would be a valuable addition to Moscow’s Spartak.

“When it comes to Wendel joining Spartak, the first person to consult is the head coach. If he believes this player would fit into his plans, then discussions can happen. However, opinions can vary. In my view, Wendel would be beneficial for Spartak. A player like him could really aid the team. But there may be differing opinions on this,” Kanchelskis said, as quoted by Legalbet.

Wendel has been with Zenit since 2020. In the previous season, the 27-year-old midfielder netted two goals and provided 13 assists in 27 matches across all competitions.

The Brazilian’s contract with the St. Petersburg club runs until the summer of 2028, and Transfermarkt values him at €18 million.
