JPMorgan предсказывает капитализацию токена Base от $12 до $34 млрд Translation: JPMorgan forecasts Base token capitalization to reach between $12 and $34 billion.

The total market value of the token of the Coinbase-supported Layer 2 network, Base, could range from $12 billion to $34 billion following its launch, as reported by The Block, citing a JPMorgan report.

Experts predict that the largest American cryptocurrency firm may retain up to 40% of the asset supply, potentially giving it a share valued between $4 billion and $12 billion.

Bank analysts modeled the expected capitalization value of the Base token based on on-chain activity within the ecosystem—suggesting that the coin’s price could «align with the network’s success.»

Since its launch in August 2023, the total value locked in Base has surpassed $5 billion, with the protocol processing an average of over 9 billion transactions daily.

At the beginning of October, the creator of the Layer 2 solution, Jesse Pollak, announced the collection of design proposals for the future network token. The community speculated that a key objective of distributing BASE could be to enhance the stock price of Coinbase (COIN).

JPMorgan shared a similar sentiment, upgrading its price target for the company to $404 by December 2026. They cited «the emergence of new monetization opportunities and reduced risks,» as Coinbase intensifies its focus on the L2 network ecosystem and the economics of stablecoins.

The bank’s experts also highlighted the company’s interest income from Circle’s reserves backing USDC. Currently, the cryptocurrency exchange distributes a substantial portion of its funds—approximately $374 million annually—among users. Analysts reported that Coinbase is considering limiting these payouts.

They also pointed out the integration of a DEX aggregator in the Base application, a response to the increasing trading volumes on decentralized platforms, which now account for 20% of total trading activity.

During Friday’s trading session, the COIN price surged by nearly 10%, approaching $355. Coinbase’s market value stands at around $91 billion.

Additionally, it’s worth noting that Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin praised Base’s achievements and positively assessed the team’s approach to decentralization.
