Jessica Diggins: A Final Season of Passion and Gratitude in Skiing

The 2018 Olympic champion and two-time world champion, American skier Jessica Diggins, has announced that the 2025/2026 season will mark the end of her professional career.

«I want to share that this year will be my last in ski racing! It won’t be easy to say goodbye to the sport and the team that I cherish, but deep down I know this is the right choice. I’m excited to start a new chapter in my life! Skiing has brought me more joy, challenges, courage, and a sense of community than I ever imagined. That’s why I want to share this final year with all of you.

It’s incredibly important to me to conclude this chapter surrounded by my family, friends, team, and the wonderful community of fans who have supported me every step of the way. I’ve spent a lot of time reflecting on how to express what this sport and everyone associated with it means to me… and honestly, I still cry every time I try! I’m filled with emotions and pride for the work I’ve done, particularly in the areas of mental health, access to winter sports, and climate issues.

Most importantly, I feel immense gratitude. Gratitude for the support that has guided me through life, for the hugs, the belief, and the chance to chase my wildest dreams alongside you. The essence of life and racing with an open heart is being able to feel so deeply and connect with so many people. Fortunately, I have a whole season to soak in all this love and express my thanks!

It has been a tremendous honor to represent such amazing communities and fans on the global stage. I’m incredibly happy that I get to do it one last time. I will give everything I have for this season, all the way through to the finish line in New York at the final Stifel competition in Lake Placid. Shine bright, ski fans! We’re in for a fun year!» — Diggins shared on her social media.
