Introducing WALKCAR 2: The Compact Surfing Platform for Urban Adventures

Cocoa Motors has introduced the WALKCAR 2, a compact device resembling a laptop and weighing just 2.9 kg, designed for navigating urban streets and tackling inclines.

Marketed as the world’s smallest portable vehicle, the WALKCAR 2 is easily transportable in a backpack.

The standard version boasts a top speed of 10 km/h and a range of 7 km on a single charge. Meanwhile, the upgraded WALKCAR 2 Pro achieves a maximum speed of 15 km/h with an 8 km range. The power output for these models is 380 W and 460 W, respectively.

WALKCARs have the capability to climb inclines, reaching up to 10 degrees for the standard version and up to 12 degrees for the Pro model. Control is achieved through simple shifts in weight.

To accelerate, users press down on the platform with the toes of both feet, while slowing down requires lifting the toes of one foot. Turning is accomplished by leaning in the desired direction with bent knees.

Developers liken riding to surfing on pavement. Unlike alternatives such as e-bikes, scooters, or skateboards, WALKCARs do not feature a steering wheel or remote control. They incorporate a «2D suspension» system that absorbs vertical and longitudinal vibrations, ensuring a smoother ride over typical urban obstacles. The WALKCAR 2 Pro enhances this with «3D suspension technology,» which mitigates vibrations in all directions—vertically, longitudinally, and laterally—resulting in improved stability on uneven or rough surfaces.

For recharging, a laptop-style charger can bring the battery to 80% in just 30 minutes, with a full charge taking an hour. The 68 Wh battery complies with the regulations of major international airlines, making it convenient for airport use.

The price of the WALKCAR 2 is set at $1299, while the Pro version is available for $1499. Both models come in four color options: Sonic Yellow, Celeste Blue, Sand Beige, and Sumi Ink Black, with deliveries expected to continue throughout April and May.

In 2023, Cyrusher launched the Ripple electric snowboard, capable of traversing both rugged terrain and flat surfaces. Featuring a wooden core and bindings, this snowboard delivers a motor power of 3000 W, allowing speeds of over 48 km/h across snowy landscapes.
