Sony Xperia 1 VII has officially been introduced in European regions on Tuesday. The latest smartphone from Sony features the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor and is offered in three distinct colors. It showcases a triple rear camera system enhanced by Sony Alpha technology, incorporating Exmor T and RS sensors, with the main rear sensor being a substantial 1/1.35-inch 48-megapixel sensor. The Sony Xperia 1 VII features a 6.5-inch display that utilizes Sony’s Bravia technology and is powered by a 5,000mAh battery supporting 30W charging.

The pricing for the Sony Xperia 1 VII is set at GBP 1,399 (approximately Rs. 1,56,700) for the model with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. It is available in Moss Green, Orchid Purple, and Slate Black color variants. The device is now available for pre-order across European markets.

The dual SIM (nano+eSIM) Sony Xperia 1 VII operates on Android 15, with Sony promising four significant OS updates and six years of security patches for the device. It boasts a 6.5-inch full-HD+ (1,080×2,340 pixels) display boasting a 120Hz refresh rate, complete DCI-P3 color gamut coverage, and protection from Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2. The screen is tuned by Sony’s Bravia technology for improved image quality and includes light sensors on both the front and back. The rear is also protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus.

The Sony Xperia 1 VII is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, complemented by 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage, which can be expanded up to 2TB via a microSD card.

In terms of photography, the Sony Xperia 1 VII sports a triple rear camera setup, led by a 48-megapixel main 1/1.3-inch Sony Exmor T sensor with a 24mm focal length. The system is rounded out by a 12-megapixel 1/3.5-inch Sony Exmor RS mobile sensor featuring optical zoom capabilities ranging from 85 to 170mm, and a 48-megapixel Sony Exmor RS 1/1.56-inch sensor with a 16mm focal length. This new ultra-wide lens represents a significant upgrade from the 12-megapixel ultra-wide sensor found in the Sony Xperia 1 VI. This camera array is supported by Sony’s Alpha camera division and is capable of recording at 30 fps with AF/AE burst shots, as well as 4K 120fps HDR video. There’s also a 12-megapixel camera on the front for selfies.

The Sony Xperia 1 VII integrates Walkman-series components and features stereo speakers, catering to various audio needs while supporting LDAC, DSEE, Dolby Atmos, 360 Reality Audio, and Qualcomm aptX adaptive functionalities. Connectivity options include a 3.5mm audio jack, Bluetooth 5, GPS/AGPS, GLONASS, NFC, a USB Type-C port, and Wi-Fi 6, along with a fingerprint sensor for safe biometric access.

For enhanced gaming experiences, Sony is incorporating features like Remote Play compatibility, Game enhancer, FPS Optimiser, and a touch scanning rate of 240Hz for the Xperia 1 VII. This phone has an IPX5 and IPX8 rating for water resistance, along with an IP6X rating for dust resistance.

Similar to its predecessor, the Sony Xperia 1 VI, the new Sony Xperia 1 VII features a 5,000mAh battery that supports 30W fast charging. It measures 162x74x8.2mm and weighs 197g.
