Google Unveils Video AI Model Veo 2 in Gemini for Advanced Users

Google has introduced the Veo 2 video generation AI model within its Gemini platform for users with a Gemini Advanced subscription.

Users can select this neural network from the list of available models in the Gemini apps. The model enables the creation of 8-second videos in 720p resolution and a 16:9 aspect ratio. These videos can be shared on platforms like TikTok, YouTube, and others or downloaded in MP4 format with watermarks included.

The company has implemented monthly limits on the number of videos that can be generated.

Additionally, Veo 2 has been integrated into Whisk, an experimental feature in Google Labs that allows users to create videos based on images.

Google introduced Veo 2 in December 2024.

It’s worth noting that in April, the AI startup Runway released a new series of video generation models called Gen-4, which can maintain scene consistency and character appearance across multiple frames.
