A community manager from Google provided details about the May 2025 update for Pixel devices, indicating build numbers BP1A.250505.005, BP1A.250505.005.B1, and BD4A.250505.003 for global models on a support page. Furthermore, Pixel devices from carriers like Taiwan+EMEA, Verizon, and Deutsche Telekom might see updates tagged with slightly different identifiers.

The devices set to receive the update include:

  1. Google Pixel 9 Series
  2. Google Pixel 8 Series
  3. Google Pixel Tablet
  4. Google Pixel Fold
  5. Google Pixel 7 Series
  6. Google Pixel 6 Series

According to the release notes, one of the fixes pertains to an audio issue that negatively impacted microphone recording quality in various applications across Google’s entire Pixel smartphone range. It also includes a fix for Bluetooth pairing issues experienced with specific smartwatches under particular circumstances. Additionally, users had reported a problem that caused an error when presenting the secondary language in the quick settings, which has also been resolved in this update.

Alongside the bug fixes, Google’s Pixel Security Bulletin confirms that the update contains a security patch for three common vulnerabilities and exposures (CVE) with a “high” severity rating. One of these is identified as CVE-2025-27700, found in the oobconfig subcomponent. In addition, vulnerabilities in the Bluetooth and kernel subcomponents were identified as CVE-2024-56193 and CVE-2025-27701, respectively, and the May 2025 update addresses those as well.

Google typically rolls out updates in stages, so the timing of availability may differ based on the carrier, device, and geographical location. Users will be notified when the update is ready for their Pixel device.
