Google Searchs AI Mode Unleashes Enhanced Features for All US Users

Google unveiled an enhancement of its AI Mode within Search, along with additional features, on Thursday. The tech powerhouse from Mountain View first introduced this AI-driven search capability in March, offering it to Google One AI Premium users in the US on a very limited scale. Subsequently, the company broadened access to all Google Labs users in the nation through a waitlist system. Now, these limitations are being removed, and the AI search mode will be made accessible to all users in the US.

Expansion of AI Mode in Google Search With New Features

The company announced that every user in the US will gain immediate entry to AI Mode upon opting into the experimental feature via Labs. This allows users in the country to bypass any sign-up and approval process. Nevertheless, access to this feature remains unavailable outside the US, with no indication of when the company plans to broaden the AI-enhanced search capabilities internationally.

Additionally, Google revealed two new functionalities within AI Mode. The first is an upgraded version of the existing Shopping Graph, which provides a thorough overview of information while users search for a product or a local business.

Beginning next week, individuals with access to AI Mode will start seeing visual representations of places and product cards when conducting related searches. According to Google, when users search for eateries, shops, and salons, they will be presented with a list of choices along with details like ratings, reviews, and operating hours.

When searching for products, users will also receive information regarding live pricing, available discounts, images, shipping details, and local stock availability. The AI Mode is designed to retrieve pertinent information even for vague product descriptions or complex requests, as stated by the company.

For example, if a user queries for “the best foldable camping chair that fits in a backpack for under Rs. 5,000,” the AI Mode will generate a list of suitable items within that budget, complete with details and links to retailers. Google did not clarify whether it would earn a commission from businesses for these recommendations.

Moreover, the AI Mode will allow desktop users to access their previous searches, enabling them to revisit specific conversations and pursue follow-up questions. Google is implementing a new left-hand side panel that will swiftly display all past searches in chronological order.
