From Danone to Milk Logic: A New Era for Russias Dairy and Baby Food Producer

Russia’s top producer of dairy and baby food, which was previously a subsidiary of the French food conglomerate Danone, announced on Wednesday a comprehensive rebranding as part of its final phase of localization.

After the invasion of Ukraine in 2022, Danone expressed its decision to exit the Russian market. Subsequently, the Kremlin temporarily seized its assets and appointed former Chechen official Ruslan Alisultanov as the chairman of the company’s board.

Following President Vladimir Putin’s decision to remove Danone from temporary management last year, the company successfully finalized the sale of its Essential Dairy and Plant-based division to a company based in Tatarstan.

In their recent announcement, the company revealed that it is replacing the interim brand name Health & Nutrition with «Logika Moloka,» which translates to «Milk Logic.»

“The new name highlights the inherent quality of milk, emphasizing that it does not rely on complicated formulas to be both nutritious and flavorful,” stated Milk Logic on its revamped website.

CEO Yakub Zakriyev expressed that the rebranding encapsulates the dairy industry’s vision as a “well-organized and rational system where every detail is carefully considered.”

The revamped logo of Milk Logic features a stylized green droplet of milk adorned with the Cyrillic letters «L» and «M,» standing for the new brand identity. The choice of green symbolizes nature, harmony, and sustainability.

“We have focused on what is most important: the equilibrium between nature, modern science, and the genuine desires of our consumers,” remarked board chairman Alisultanov.

Despite the new branding initiative, the company assured that its legal entities, existing agreements, and brand portfolio will remain unchanged.
