Formula 1 to Hold Moment of Silence for Eddie Jordan Ahead of Chinese Grand Prix

Formula 1 will hold a moment of silence to honor the legendary founder and former owner of the Jordan team, which participated in the «Royal Races,» Eddie Jordan, as reported by journalist Thomas Maher.

«F1 confirms that a minute of silence will take place tomorrow at 1:00 PM local time in Shanghai to remember Eddie Jordan. Teams will gather on the starting grid beneath the podium to pay tribute to Eddie’s remarkable life and career, just before the drivers’ parade,» Maher wrote on social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter).

Jordan passed away on the night of March 20 at the age of 76. In December 2024, he revealed that he was battling cancer; Eddie was diagnosed with aggressive bladder and prostate cancer. In February, the former team owner mentioned that he had already undergone four rounds of chemotherapy. According to his manager, the doctors provided positive outlooks after the treatment.
