First Look: NoiseFit Origin Smartwatch Redefines Premium Wearables with Sleek Design and Enhanced Features

The NoiseFit Origin smartwatch, released in India on Wednesday, offers a software experience that notably diverges from what we’ve typically encountered with the company’s other, less upscale products. While it has the appearance and feel of a high-end device, it also boasts intriguing features, including a new EN1 processor, improved haptics, and a vibrant 600 nits AMOLED screen. Its price tag is also significantly higher than previous Noise smartwatches (with the exception of the Noise Fit Voyage).

Specifically, the NoiseFit Origin smartwatch is priced at Rs. 6,499 in India, available in one size with two strap choices: leather and silicone.

The crown on the NoiseFit Origin allows for easy navigation through the menu

Having tested the NoiseFit Origin smartwatch briefly, I found the overall experience quite satisfactory, despite a few minor issues. In terms of design, it stands out as one of the top contenders in the sub-Rs. 10,000 category – featuring a round dial, a metal casing, and a rotating crown. Additionally, it includes a side button that can be customized for various functions. The smartwatch is IP68-rated, offering up to 3 ATM water resistance. The silicone strap variant we have feels considerably comfortable.

Equipped with a 1.46-inch AMOLED screen that has a resolution of 466×466 pixels and a 60Hz refresh rate, the user experience isn’t always perfectly smooth. Given its pricing, the brightness levels appear to be somewhat average, particularly during Delhi’s scorching summer months when the sun is directly overhead. Noise has introduced a new Nebula UI with this smartwatch, and although it seems familiar to users of similarly priced smartwatches, the company asserts that it includes an expanded feature set. As with other wearables, swiping right reveals various health monitoring charts, swiping down accesses notifications, while swiping up brings up a quick action panel. The UI’s vibrant colors and lively graphics seem aimed at a younger audience.

As anticipated, there are numerous health and fitness tracking features. These encompass continuous heart rate and SpO2 monitoring, which has become a common aspect even in budget smartwatches today. Nonetheless, Noise highlights that the Rapid Health feature allows users to check multiple health metrics with just a single tap. The gesture controls for muting calls and taking photos with wrist movements also perform quite effectively.

Although I haven’t used it extensively yet, Bluetooth calling seems to function well so far, with the person on the other end generally receiving clear audio. However, background noise cancellation is only moderate.

Connecting the NoiseFit Origin to a smartphone is a seamless process, even for iPhone users. A companion NoiseFit app is available on the App Store, which allows users to customize watch faces, activate Bluetooth calling, view biomonitoring data, set SOS contacts, and more. There’s also a Step Streak feature that motivates the user to meet their step goals and earn coins and badges.

The NoiseFit Origin can sync with the NoiseFit companion app, available on both Android and iOS platforms

The charging cable attaches magnetically to the back of the smartwatch. However, it can easily come loose with slight movement, meaning you’ll need to ensure it’s securely connected at night if you want to wake up to a fully charged device. Noise claims the smartwatch can sustain up to 7 days on a single charge. To see whether the NoiseFit Origin meets its promises, keep an eye out for the detailed review.
