Evil Has Always Had a Name: A Short Film Inspired by Resident Evil Requiem

A month prior to the release of Resident Evil Requiem, the company Capcom launched a short film inspired by the game. The film highlights the tragic events in Raccoon City, where a zombie virus outbreak occurred.

The plot of the new horror unfolds thirty years after the aforementioned disaster. The main characters are FBI analyst Grace Ashcroft and bioterrorism fighter Leon Kennedy. Grace travels to an abandoned hotel to investigate a mysterious death, while Leon pursues his own investigation. Ultimately, their paths will cross.

Players will control both characters in Requiem. The gameplay differs significantly between them. Segments featuring Ashcroft evoke a sense reminiscent of both RE2 and RE7, characterized by a slow pace, limited ammunition, and inventory space, often favoring escape over precise shooting. In contrast, Leon serves as a killing machine, just as seen in RE4, taking down hordes of infected, parrying blows with an axe, and utilizing hand-to-hand combat techniques.

Resident Evil Requiem is set to launch on February 27 for PC (Steam, Epic Games Store), PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and Switch 2. The Russian localization will feature not only text but also voice acting.
