Escalating Violence: Russian Attack Claims 5 Lives and Injures 23 in Dnipropetrovsk Region

On Friday, a Russian assault in Ukraine’s eastern Dnipropetrovsk region resulted in the deaths of five individuals and left 23 others injured, according to regional authorities. This attack targeted the town of Samar, located near the regional capital, Dnipro, as reported by Dnipropetrovsk Governor Serhiy Lysak.

“Five people have been killed by the Russians… and there are 23 injuries,” Lysak stated.

Earlier in the week, missile strikes from Russia on Dnipro and Samar claimed at least 23 lives, according to Ukrainian officials. Military sources noted that prior attacks in the region were aimed at Ukrainian training facilities.

Russian forces appear to be attempting to establish a presence in Dnipropetrovsk for the first time since President Vladimir Putin ordered the large-scale invasion of Ukraine. Moscow claimed earlier in the week to have taken control of two villages near the regional border.

In a related report, officials from Ukraine’s northeastern Kharkiv region indicated that one person lost their life and three were injured in separate Russian attacks, though they did not disclose the specific location of these incidents.
