Eduard Mor Critiques Russias National Team Selection for Upcoming Friendlies

Former football player of Moscow’s Spartak, **[Eduard Mor](https://www.example.com/eduard-mor)**, shared his thoughts on the Russian national team’s roster for the friendly matches against Nigeria and Belarus. According to Mor, **Valery Karpin** has assembled a competitive squad, but it is not the most optimal choice for the matches in June.

«The national team features a lot of players from Rostov, likely as recognition for their reaching the Cup final. I was surprised by the inclusion of Abdulkadyrov, who has only played in four incomplete matches. Maybe Karpin wants to observe him more closely. Also, there are just two foreign players. While the team is competitive, it’s not the best possible lineup. Personally, I was disappointed by the absence of Umayrov—he’s been performing very well lately,» Mor stated during a broadcast on «Match TV.»

Since the onset of the special military operation in Ukraine in February 2022, the Russian national team and all Russian football clubs have been excluded from international tournaments. As a result, Valery Karpin’s squad has only been participating in friendly matches. In March, the Russian team faced Grenada and Zambia, securing two victories with a combined score of 10-0.
