Early Release of Scarface: The World Is Yours for PC Accidentally Leaked on Digital Platforms

Pages for Scarface: The World Is Yours, an action-adventure game from 2006 inspired by the classic film Scarface (1983), have recently appeared on Steam and Epic Games Store. However, it is currently not available for purchase through Valve’s store, and there is no release date as of yet. On the other hand, EGS has unexpectedly opened up pre-order options.

According to a message from the publisher EC Digital Entertainment, the early release on EGS was due to a technical glitch encountered during backend setup. The team is currently working hard to complete the Steam version, and more information will be shared as the launch date approaches.

For the re-release of Scarface: The World Is Yours, they’ve prepared an optional HD graphics upgrade, implemented using AI technology. Players will have the ability to switch between the original graphics and the enhanced version at any time. There are no other changes made to the game.

As reported by user Wario64, the updated build includes SilentPatch and Fusion Fix, allowing the game to run smoothly on modern systems without bugs or artifacts. The creator of SilentPatch stated that no one contacted him regarding this matter: “It’s not required by the licensing terms, but it wouldn’t hurt.” Silent also emphasized that republishing Scarface: The World Is Yours likely involved untangling a complex web of film and music licenses, especially considering that few original team members remain involved.

When Scarface: The World Is Yours was launched in 2006, the development was handled by Radical Entertainment and published by Vivendi Games. The latter became part of Activision in 2008, and Radical Entertainment transitioned to a support studio in 2012. As of 2022, only six members of the original team remained at Radical, according to sources.
