Diveevs Dream: Playing in Europe and the Champions League Remains Alive

The central defender of Zenit, Igor Diveev, shared whether his dream of playing in a European championship still remains.

“Dream? Yes, of course, I still have that dream. I want to play in Europe and the Champions League, as well as in the World Cup. I have experienced the European Championship, albeit with a disappointing outcome. However, I definitely desire it now. Especially since I recently attended the match between Liverpool and Inter in Milan (the sixth round of the Champions League group stage. — Editor’s note). I heard the Champions League anthem and observed how it all unfolds. It was truly amazing!” Diveev said in an interview with Zenit’s press service on their YouTube channel.

Zenit announced Diveev’s transfer from CSKA on Sunday, January 11. His contract with the club will last until the end of the 2028/2029 season. The defender had been with the red-blues since 2019.
