Developers Set Timeline for Ethereums Fusaka Hard Fork Launch

The upcoming major update of Fusaka is set to launch on the Ethereum network in early November. A developer testnet will be available starting July 23, as announced by the ethPandaOps team.

During the hard fork, developers will implement 11 Ethereum Improvement Proposals (EIPs). Among the key proposals:

The primary objective of Fusaka is to enhance the scalability and resilience of the network, while also streamlining the process of creating decentralized applications. Ethereum developers plan to launch public test networks in September and October.

The protocol support team aims to deploy the upgrade ahead of the Devconnect conference, which will take place from November 17 to 22 in Buenos Aires.

On August 1, the AllCoreDevs meeting will also approve the features for the next hard fork, Glamsterdam. This aligns with Ethereum’s new strategy of releasing updates every six months.

It’s worth noting that the last upgrade, Pectra, occurred in May. This update brought improvements related to account abstraction and increased the staking limit for validators. Additionally, it enhanced the performance of Layer 2 solutions by reducing fees.

Previously, Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin expressed support for raising the gas limit per block in the Ethereum network.
