Developers of Gothic Remake Unveil Combat System Enhancements

A few months ago at the gamescom 2025 exhibition, players had the opportunity to try out the latest demo of Gothic 1 Remake. Since then, many have pointed out that the combat system wasn’t particularly impressive, prompting the developers from Alkimia Interactive to promise improvements before the game’s release. Yesterday, they released a dedicated update on Steam showcasing some of the enhancements.

Over the last three months, the team has refined the animations and made the protagonist’s attacks more responsive. They plan to continue making progress, focusing on enhancing various gameplay elements, including the AI of opponents.

The release of Gothic 1 Remake is scheduled for the first quarter of 2026 on PC (Steam, GOG), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series, complete with full Russian localization.
