Developers of Dying Light: The Beast Draw Inspiration from Alien: Isolation and Resident Evil 3 for Nightmare Difficulty

The creators of  Dying Light: The Beast are introducing a new difficulty level called «Nightmare.» In a blog post for Dying Light, franchise director Tymon Smektala admitted that the development team drew inspiration for this mode from iconic horror games such as  Alien: Isolation and  Resident Evil 3: Nemesis.

According to the developer, this mode will not only increase the difficulty of enemies but also alter the overall survival experience.

Dying Light: The Beast is already being hailed as a game that keeps impressing players. What began as an expansion for  Dying Light 2: Stay Human quickly evolved into a standalone entry in the series, featuring an expansive world and a wealth of content. In a recent post, Smektala also highlighted the addition of ray tracing on PC, the development of the «Legend Levels» system, and a crossover with  PUBG Mobile.

Additionally, the studio has launched the «Call of the Beast» event, a series of challenges set to run until 2026. In the first challenge, the community was tasked with severing 60 million limbs to unlock exclusive rewards.

Players will be able to tackle Dying Light: The Beast on «Nightmare» difficulty on PC (Steam, Epic Games Store), Xbox Series, and PlayStation 5, complete with full Russian localization. Currently, there’s a Halloween sale on the series in Valve’s store. Although «The Beast» hasn’t gone on sale, the original  Dying Light is available at an 80% discount, while the sequel has been reduced by 67%. This promotion will last until November 6.
