Denis Boyarintsev: Ugalde Shows Promise but Lacks Leadership Qualities

The head coach of Volgograd’s Rotor, **Denis Boyarintsev**, shared his thoughts on the forward of Moscow’s Spartak, **Manfred Ugalde**.

«Last autumn, everyone admired him, but back then, the whole team was performing well. That allowed Manfred to showcase his best qualities. He is a decent player, but he’s not a leader. Players like him don’t shine during tough times for the team. This spring, the attack struggled. There were plenty of opportunities, but something held him back from converting those chances.

At this stage of the season, when the fight for standings intensifies, it’s crucial to step up. He needs to capitalize on his chances, and he had some! Even in the last derby. However, the young man simply lacks experience at this point. He’s still relatively young and is in the process of developing,» Boyarintsev stated in an exclusive interview with **Championship** correspondent Maria Kutsubayeva.

In the past season, Ugalde played 36 matches for Spartak across all competitions, scoring 18 goals and providing six assists.
