Deadly Russian Shelling in Kherson Claims One Life Amid Ongoing Assaults

Russian assaults in the southern Ukrainian city of Kherson resulted in at least one fatality and three injuries on Wednesday, as reported by local authorities.

Oleksandr Prokudin, the Governor of the Kherson region, stated that the Russian strikes persisted even as emergency responders arrived at the location where a man was killed and three others were injured.

Prokudin expressed on social media, «This is a calculated strategy by Russia to impede the rescue efforts for victims and to endanger medical staff, emergency responders, and law enforcement.»

Kherson was taken over by Russian troops during their invasion in early 2022. Ukraine managed to reclaim the city months later, but it has since faced relentless shelling from Russian forces.

Additionally, in the neighboring Odesa region, local officials reported that three individuals suffered injuries due to a Russian drone strike.
