Deadly Russian Missile Strike on Ukrainian Training Camp: Six Servicemen Killed, Investigation Launched

A Russian missile strike on a Ukrainian military training facility resulted in the deaths of six servicemen and left at least ten others injured during exercises on Tuesday, as reported by Ukraine’s national guard on Wednesday. The statement also indicated that the unit’s commander had been suspended.

On the same day, the Russian Defense Ministry claimed that the missile attack on the training site in the Sumy region of northeastern Ukraine killed as many as 70 Ukrainian troops, including 20 instructors.

According to the Ukrainian national guard, an internal investigation is currently underway, and information has been conveyed to law enforcement agencies.

«The inquiry will assess the actions of all individuals involved in making the relevant decisions,» the statement noted.

Following prior lethal attacks on military training camps, Ukraine initiated investigations into potential negligence.
