CMF by Nothing Sparks Excitement with Pokémon Teasers, Hinting at CMF Phone 2 and More Releases Ahead

Nothing or its affiliated brand CMF is likely to introduce a new smartphone to the Indian market shortly. The UK-based company has shared hints on social media about upcoming products. Via its India X account, Nothing has teased a Pokemon-related post featuring Bulbasaur. While the official name is yet to be revealed, there is strong speculation that the CMF Phone 2, a follow-up to the previous year’s CMF Phone 1, could be launched soon. Additionally, CMF is anticipated to announce new audio and wearable devices as well.

Nothing or CMF Set to Launch New Smartphone Soon

CMF has hinted at the release of four new CMF by Nothing products through its X account and community platform. The company has released four promotional images featuring characters from the Pokemon series — Bulbasaur, Gligar, Girafarig, and Hoothoot.

The name Bulbasaur is thought to be linked to the CMF Phone 2, while Girafarig is speculated to be associated with Watch Pro 3. Gligar could represent the CMF Neckband Pro 2, while Hoothoot might refer to Buds Pro 3.

Interestingly, Nothing India has also circulated the poster with Bulbasaur showcasing a ‘coming soon’ label on X, hinting at the impending launch of the new smartphone within the country.

Recent purported images of the CMF Phone 2 surfaced online this month, displaying a matte finish alongside a triple camera setup on the back. It is projected to offer enhancements over the CMF Phone 1, which debuted in India in July 2024 as the initial smartphone from the CMF series. The starting price was set at Rs. 15,999 for the entry-level 6GB + 128GB RAM and storage configuration.

The CMF Phone 1 boasts a 6.7-inch full-HD+ (1,080×2,400 pixels) AMOLED LTPS display with an adaptive refresh rate of up to 120Hz. It is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 7300 5G processor, paired with up to 8GB of RAM. The device features a dual-camera arrangement on the rear, consisting of a primary 50-megapixel Sony sensor and a portrait sensor. It houses a 5,000mAh battery capable of 33W fast charging and 5W reverse wired charging.
