Claude AI Introduces In-Chat App Creation: Users Can Build and Share AI Applications Instantly

Anthropic has introduced a new feature in Claude AI that enables users to build AI-powered applications directly within the chatbot. This functionality is available on the Free, Pro, and Max tiers.

This update builds upon the Anthropic Artifacts feature launched last year, which facilitates interaction with content during the generation process of Claude.

«Simply describe what you want to create, and Claude will generate the code for you. As you collaborate, Claude can debug and refine its own code based on your feedback. Once the application is ready, you can instantly share it via a link—no deployment process is required. Claude will handle the technical details, including real-time design, error handling, and orchestration logic, allowing you to fully focus on bringing your idea to life,» the company stated in a blog post.

Early adopters of this feature have developed AI-based games, educational tools, data analysis applications, writing assistants, and even working agents that «coordinate multiple Claude calls for complex tasks.»

The applications created will be able to interact with Claude through an API.

As clarified by Anthropic, when the API of the developed application is used, it will count towards the user’s subscription rather than the creator’s.

However, the feature does come with some limitations. It does not support external API calls, persistent storage, and is restricted to a text-based API interface.

In another development, Anthropic has recently shut down its experimental blog project, Claude Explains, just a month after its launch. This blog focused on the capabilities of the language model but faced criticism on social media, partly due to a perceived lack of transparency regarding the generated text. Some users pointed out that it resembled an effort to automate content marketing, serving as a funnel for potential leads.
