ChatGPT Expands Capabilities with Google Drive and Gmail Integration

Chatbot ChatGPT has the capability to connect to a larger array of internal sources and gather contextual information in real-time, with existing user permissions still in effect, as emphasized by OpenAI.

The list of services that the chatbot can access for data includes:

This feature is available for subscribers of paid plans. Additionally, users on Team, Enterprise, and Edu plans will have support for SharePoint, Dropbox, and Box.

Workspace administrators can create their own **connectors** for in-depth research using the Model Context Protocol (MCP).

The MCP facilitates the integration of proprietary systems and other applications, enabling teams to access the required information from both internal sources and the internet, or through pre-configured connectors.

This tool is offered under the Team, Enterprise, Edu, and Pro pricing plans.

Furthermore, Team users on macOS can utilize the newly integrated recording mode. This feature empowers ChatGPT to record meetings, brainstorming sessions, or voice memos, transcribe them, highlight key points, and transform the content into a work plan or code.

The service is set to be rolled out soon for Plus, Pro, Enterprise, and Edu users.

Previously, OpenAI initiated the integration of a lighter version of the memory enhancements for ChatGPT for users without a paid subscription.

It’s worth noting that in June, it was reported that the startup aims to develop its chatbot into a «super assistant,» which «deeply understands the user and serves as an interface for the internet.»
