Buцаев: Lokomotiv Will Remain the Same After Nikitins Departure

Olympic champion Vyacheslav Butsaev shared his thoughts on the departure of head coach Igor Nikitin from Lokomotiv immediately after winning the Gagarin Cup.

«Lokomotiv will continue to be Lokomotiv. Nothing will change. The core of the team is solid. I don’t see any major issues. Yes, there will be a new coach and some minor adjustments to the playing style. However, it might remain the same. It’s too early to discuss this,» said Butsaev, as reported by Vprognoze.

Nikitin took over as head coach of Lokomotiv in 2021. Under his leadership, the Yaroslavl team won the KHL regular season title and clinched the Gagarin Cup for the first time in the recently concluded season.
