Black Ops 6 Goes Free for a Week Right Before Battlefield 6 Launch

The spookiest holiday of the year, Halloween, is approaching. In honor of this occasion, thematic content featuring nightmares and killers will be introduced in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. Additionally, Activision has announced a week-long opportunity to play the sixth installment of Black Ops for free. This trial period will kick off just one day before the launch of Battlefield 6.

The promo will begin on October 9th at 7 PM Moscow time and conclude on October 16th at 8 PM Moscow time. Interested players will gain full access to the campaign, along with multiplayer and zombie mode (ranked mode will not be included). Furthermore, players will be able to experience the Halloween-themed additions, detailed below.

Activision frequently offers introductory periods at the beginning of new seasons in Call of Duty, so it shouldn’t be interpreted as a deliberate competition. Nevertheless, DICE has previously taken jabs at its rivals. For instance, they have expressed distaste for the flamboyant skins from CoD, which do not fit the setting of armed conflicts.

As for the sixth season of Black Ops 6 and Warzone, it has been named The Haunting and will launch on October 9th. Fans of the game can look forward to new weapons, revamped maps, a new Slasher Deathmatch mode, and more.

In this new mode, iconic horror villains like Jason Voorhees from Friday the 13th and Chucky from the Child’s Play franchise will be featured. Each round will include eight players, with two of them taking on the roles of killers. The attackers will be on the hunt while the defenders must survive until the end of the match. Jason (along with the Predator) will also be available as an operator, allowing players to step into his shoes outside of Slasher Deathmatch.

Meanwhile, preparations are underway for the release of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, set to debut on November 14 on PC (Steam, Microsoft Store, Battle.net), PlayStation, and Xbox, including Game Pass, featuring Russian text localization. Battlefield 6, on the other hand, will be released a day earlier on October 10 for PC (Steam, Epic Games Store) and for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series, but without Russian localization.
