Belgorod Governor Reports 2,415 Civilians Injured in Ongoing Ukrainian Attacks Since Invasion

Authorities reported on Monday that over 2,400 civilians in the Belgorod region of southwestern Russia have suffered injuries due to cross-border strikes from Ukraine since the onset of the full-scale invasion.

«Currently, 2,415 residents, including 164 children, have been injured as a result of shelling from Ukraine,» Belgorod region Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov shared on Telegram. «Regrettably, the number of injured continues to rise.»

Gladkov did not disclose the civilian death toll in the Belgorod region since the beginning of what Russia refers to as its «special military operation» in Ukraine.

Last month, the governor stated that 338 residents of Belgorod, including 23 children, had lost their lives due to Ukrainian attacks since February 2022. Over the weekend, Gladkov reported that seven individuals had been killed in August alone.

In May, Russian investigators indicated that at least 621 civilians in the Belgorod, Kursk, Bryansk, and other areas had been killed since the fighting began in early 2022.

In contrast, the United Nations estimates that more than 13,500 Ukrainian civilians have died since President Vladimir Putin launched the large-scale invasion.
