Barcelona Can Register New Player Due to Christensens Injury, According to MD

If needed, Barcelona may register a new player due to the injury of defender Andreas Christensen, according to Mundo Deportivo.

According to La Liga’s budget regulations, clubs that do not comply with financial fair play can register a new player if another team member suffers an injury or serious illness that sidelines them for a period of four months or longer. It is noted that Christensen is expected to be out for approximately four months due to a partial tear of the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee.

Barcelona must now submit the relevant medical report to La Liga’s medical commission and await its approval.

It’s worth mentioning that Barcelona utilized this rule previously when registering midfielder Dani Olmo in 2024, also resulting from Christensen’s injury.
