Arsenal Makes History by Fielding Youngest Player in Premier League Club History

The match of the 4th round of the English League Cup is currently taking place, featuring London’s Arsenal against Brighton. In the starting lineup for the Gunners is midfielder **Max Doumen**, who is 15 years and 302 days old at the time of the game. With this, he has become the youngest player to start a match for any Premier League club across all competitions.

Doumen is a product of Arsenal’s academy. In the 2024/2025 season, he played 18 matches for the club’s under-18 team, scoring 18 goals and providing five assists. Throughout the season, he was called up to train with the first team several times but was unable to participate in Premier League matches due to his age.
