Apple Alludes to Visual Overhaul with ‘Sleek Peek’ Ahead of WWDC 2025

As Apple’s WWDC 2025 approaches, speculation surrounding anticipated announcements is growing. Right before the developer conference starts on June 9, Apple has refreshed its homepage with a new tagline that hints at upcoming updates. The technology giant based in Cupertino is expected to reveal new software updates for devices like the iPhone, iPad, and Mac, with a significant visual overhaul anticipated for this year.

Update on WWDC 2025 Tagline

Apple initially announced the WWDC 2025 event on May 21, accompanied by the tagline «on the horizon.» The teaser image included a rainbow design with ‘glassy’ features, suggesting potential design modifications in its operating systems this year. It has now updated the tagline to «sleek peek» on its developer page.

This change is believed to be another indication of the updates aimed at aligning Apple’s other operating systems with the design aesthetics of visionOS, which powers the Vision Pro augmented reality headset.

Previous information indicates that the operating systems of the iPhone, iPad, and Mac are set to feature a newly designed interface. Apple is expected to introduce a floating tab view, glass-like effects throughout the interface, refreshed icons, and other visual enhancements. These adjustments are intended to create a more unified experience across its range of devices.

With these visual updates, Apple reportedly aims to reduce disparities in system functionalities, such as menu buttons, the menu bar, hamburger menus, and application closing buttons. This initiative is seen as a way to help a new generation of users better navigate their devices. Consequently, the main applications are likely to sport a look that is more in line with other operating systems.

Beyond mere visual updates, the iPhone manufacturer is also predicted to implement changes in the naming conventions of its operating systems. Reports suggest that Apple might shift to a year-based naming format instead of the usual iteration approach. Therefore, iOS 19 may transform into iOS 26, iPadOS 19 to iPadOS 26, and macOS 16 to macOS 26. Significantly, the latter is also reported to adopt the name ‘Tahoe’, named after Lake Tahoe in California.
