Airtel Unveils Rs. 451 Prepaid Plan, Offering 50GB and 90-Day JioHotstar Access for IPL Fans

Bharti Airtel has introduced a fresh recharge option for prepaid users across India. Launched in conjunction with the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season, this plan includes a free subscription to JioHotstar, the streaming service created after the merger of JioCinema and Disney+ Hotstar. The latest offering also provides 50GB of data. With this recharge, Airtel subscribers can watch live matches of IPL 2025, as well as access a variety of movies, shows, anime, and documentaries on both their smartphones and televisions.

Airtel Rs. 451 Prepaid Recharge Option: Advantages

As per Airtel’s details, the Rs. 451 prepaid recharge option delivers 50GB of data valid for 30 days. It is essential to understand that this validity pertains solely to the voucher and not the actual service. According to the fair usage policy (FUP), users can experience unlimited internet until their data cap is reached, after which speeds will drop to 64 Kbps.

Alongside the 50GB data allocation, Airtel prepaid users receive a free subscription to JioHotstar for a duration of 90 days. However, the plan itself does not include voice calling or SMS functionalities. It isn’t a stand-alone option and must be paired with an active base plan to be effective.

Interestingly, JioHotstar’s ad-supported plan kicks off at Rs. 149 per month, allowing streaming on a single mobile device in 720p resolution. The premium version of JioHotstar is available at Rs. 299 per month or Rs. 1,499 annually, featuring an estimated total of 300,000 hours of film, series, anime, and documentaries, alongside live sports broadcasts.

Furthermore, Bharti Airtel is not the sole telecom provider rolling out IPL-oriented prepaid recharge options. Competitors like Reliance Jio and Vodafone Idea (Vi) are also offering packages with data benefits. Jio’s Rs. 100 recharge scheme represents the most economical method to enjoy ad-supported JioHotstar content for a span of 90 days. On the other hand, Vi provides one data voucher along with two separate prepaid recharge plans that include a subscription to JioHotstar.
