TikTok Expands Music Library with SoundCloud Integration

TikTok will enable its users to save music from SoundCloud. The platform is joining music services like Spotify, Apple Music, and Amazon Music, which are already integrated with TikTok.

Last November, TikTok launched the Add to Music App feature. This allows users to save tracks they discover on the social media platform. While watching a video, users can simply click the Add to Music App button, and the song will be saved to their playlist on Spotify, Apple Music, or Amazon Music—now, SoundCloud will also be included.

SoundCloud points out that once users save a track in a music app like SoundCloud, that platform will become the default music-saving application. However, this setting can be adjusted in TikTok’s privacy options.

According to SoundCloud, TikTok users have saved over a billion tracks using the Add to Music App feature. In addition to its partnership with TikTok, SoundCloud has also launched a new feature called Move Your Music, which allows users to transfer their playlists and favorite songs from other services, such as Apple Music, Spotify, YouTube Music, TIDAL, Deezer, and Amazon Music.
