Sozin: CSKAs Title Aspirations Demand Caution – Focus on Work Before Talk

Football expert Andrey Sozin shared his thoughts on CSKA’s championship aspirations following the winter transfer window signings of Russian players Dmitry Barinov, , and Argentine Luciano Gondo.

“CSKA appears to be the most confident and optimistic club in the RPL. This impression comes from the volume and variety of materials coming out of the team’s training camps. Perhaps it’s a European approach, but there seems to be an air of euphoria surrounding the club. Of course, this sentiment is not unfounded—the team has secured two very strong newcomers for the starting lineup and another for the rotation. However, the enthusiasm may be a bit excessive; everything sounds too perfect right now.

From the friendly matches, I was impressed with Voronov. He seems to fit into the team’s dynamics better than Musaev. As for Allerrandro, I won’t even start on that. Barinov also seems to be in his element. Everything around the team looks positive. But there’s a bit too much expectation for a title challenge. While that’s great to see, I would be delighted if CSKA did compete for it. My concern is that this confidence might tip into overconfidence. So, let’s focus on the work at hand before the discussions begin,” Sozin stated in an interview with «Championat» correspondent Maxim Pakhomov.
